Vacancy: Chair of Council of Management
Church Action on Poverty works with people living in poverty, the churches and others across the UK to build a social movement to reclaim dignity, agency and power together.
Church Action on Poverty is seeking a new Chairperson from this autumn. We are looking for someone to lead the Council of Management in overseeing the development and delivery of our strategy of building a social movement to reclaim dignity, agency and power together. You will work closely with Church Action on Poverty’s Chief Executive in pursuing the mission of the organisation.
If you have proven capacity for inclusive leadership, good judgement, a commitment to social justice and at least two days per month available, we would like to hear from you! You will need to be able to attend occasional meetings in Manchester, but applicants can live anywhere in the UK.

Applications need to be received by 10am on Tuesday 26 September 2023.
Interviews will take place on 7 or 14 October 2023. They may be online or in person.

I’m considering applying for the post of Chair. I was shortlisted and interviewed in 2020, so I’d like confirmation that I would be considered!
I’d also be grateful for a chat with the current Chair and/or the Chief Executive. I’m free quite a bit up to 20th September, except NOT the following times and days:
Tues 12th, Weds 13th evening, Thursday 14th afternoon. Most other times would be fine.
