Kath Carter receives SMK awardKath was presented with her award at a ceremony hosted by Channel 4 newscaster Jon Snow, on 13 September 2011 at St Martin-in-the-Fields off Trafalgar Square in London. The award was presented by 105-year-old peace campaigner and former suffragette Hetty Bower.

Kath said at the ceremony: “It’s a real privilege to win this prestigious campaigning award. It makes my work at Thrive more worthwhile. High-interest lenders beware as I am once again inspired by this award to carry on and fight the poverty premium”.
