Have your say on responsible lending

The Office of Fair Trading are planning a year-long project looking at responsibility in lending. They are inviting comments on their plan. We encourage anyone concerned about irresponsible lenders to have a say.

Debt On Our Doorstep supporters are encouraged to respond to the OFT consultation

The OFT have published a scoping paper outlining their plans. They have invited anyone interested to send in their comments by 24 October 2008.

We encourage all supporters of CAP and Debt On Our Doorstep to respond to the consultation. Please argue for the widest possible remit to be given to the project, in order to allow it to investigate and make recommendations on all matters from advertising, through to lending decisions, and decisions concerning recovery action.

Debt On Our Doorstep will be examining the issues in more detail over the period of the consultation. Further news and views will appear on the DOOD blog in due course.

Debt On Our Doorstep is a national coalition which aims to end extortionate lending and ensure universal access to affordable credit and other financial services.
