Make sure your MP attends the APPG lecture!
We are delighted to announce the inaugural annual lecture of the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Poverty. Church Action on Povetry and our partners have been very involved in relaunching and supporting the APPG over the last year.
We are marking the United Nations day for the Eradication of Poverty on Thursday 20 October 2011 with a keynote speech in Parliament on the Government's vision for tackling poverty in the UK today. The Rt Hon Iain Duncan Smith MP, Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, will address an audience made up of representatives from local poverty-fighting projects and their constituency MPs. Several local projects will make presentations about their work.
We would like as many MPs as possible to attend the lecture. If you can, please contatc your own MP and counrage them to attend. (You can use the Write to Them website to email or fax your MP very easily.)
