Participatory Budgeting (PB) can play a crucial role in helping to deliver genuine localism by offering people a direct say in how money is spent in their towns and parishes. This workshop will offer participants the opportunity to explore:

  • how PB is already working at neighbourhood level
  • how PB can enhance neighbourhood planning practices
  • how 'local PB' can be scaled up
  • how evolving PB initiatives can mesh effectively with the current policy agenda around neighbourhood budgets, open public services and local empowerment in general.
