Be part of the movement for change!
Our volunteer internship programme for 2011-12 provides an opportunity to play a key role in the campaigns and programmes of Church Action on Poverty. You’ll work alongside skilled professionals who are passionate about tackling UK poverty and inequality. You’ll get the chance to apply existing skills, and an opportunity to develop new ones.
This year we are offering two different kinds of volunteer internships:
- Campaign internship programme: two internships – Manchester
Join our Public Affairs team in Manchester, mobilising churches to take action and lobbying for national policy changes. - ChangeMakers internship programme: three internships - Manchester, Teesside and North Wales
Join one of Church Action on Poverty’s partner organisations in enabling local people to challenge public agencies and other power-holders directly, to bring about positive and practical change in their communities.
Internship terms
Length of assignment: We ask for a minimum commitment of six months (although as a volunteer scheme we will not hold you to this if circumstances change).
Commitment: Three or four days per week from September 2011 (or sooner if appropriate).
Expenses: These positions are unpaid but generous local travel and lunch expenses will be provided.
All non-EU applicants must have the requisite visas to volunteer in the UK.
