Timed to coincide with the European Year Against Poverty, confirmed speakers include the Secretary General of Caritas Internationalis and the Chairman of the Dutch Scientific Policy Institute.
Papers are now invited (which will be considered for the conference, for a special edition of New Blackfriars journal and an edited book) from academics and senior practitioners on topics related to the theme of the conference. Abstracts in theology, philosophy, history, politics and the wider social sciences are all invited for conference streams and should be sent to the Director of the Las Casas Institute by 30 July 2009.
