This Pilgrimage event is being organised by the Anglican Diocese of Peterborough. It will start at Peterborough Cathedral and end at the village of Helpston, the birthplace of the 'Peasant Poet' John Clare. The pilgrimage route will be about eight miles long.

Other events are taking place in many parts of the country on the same weekend, to raise awareness of poverty issues and raise funds for campaigning work.

Please join a Pilgrimage event in your region, and stand in solidarity with people in poverty! Contact the local organiser, or the CAP office, to register your interest in taking part.

The provisional timetable for this event is as follows:

10.00 Gather for prayer at the Cathedral

12.00 Arrive at Werrington to join with the 'Pausing at the Well' workshop event

12.30 Prayers and lunch

13.45 Depart from Werrington

15.30 Arrive at Helpston

15.45 Closing prayers

16.00 Tea

A booklet will be produced that will guide the thoughts and prayers of the pilgrims on the day. Those who would wish to join the pilgrimage but who cannot walk may also have the booklet so that they can prayerfully join in either in their cars or at home.
