In 1999, thousands of people supported CAPs Pilgrimage Against Poverty as it travelled the length of the country, from Iona to London. 10 years on, join the pilgrimage again.

On 17 October, the UN Day for the Eradication of Poverty, there will be pilgrimage walks in many cities. They will raise awareness and funds for the vital work done by CAP and by local projects.

In Manchester, CAP supporters will gather at Gorton railway station in East Manchester at 1pm. We will walk together into the city centre, with pauses along the way for prayer and reflection. The Pilgrimage will end with a worship service at Methodist Central Buildings at 3pm. Pilgrims who took part in the original Pilgrimage Against Poverty will share their experiences and reflections.

If you would like to take part in the Manchester Pilgrimage, please contact Sebastian Morello in the Church Action on Poverty offices.
