"Members of faith-based groups can often feel like small insignificant dots on the landscape.”
The Faith Based Regeneration Network (FbRN) UK host a national conference which aims to strengthen links between faith-based groups, voluntary and community sector organisations providing resources and support for regeneration and social action, and government and private sector organisations.
Faith-based groups contribute enormously to communities, cohesion, and social and economic development, but members of these groups can often feel that they are small, insignificant dots on the landscape. Working in a 'joined-up' way with other voluntary and community organisations can often increase the impact of what they do.
FbRN is very fortunate this year to have as its keynote speaker Sadiq Khan, Minister for Community Cohesion and Parliamentary Undersecretary of State in the Department of Communities and Local Government. Other scheduled speakers in the day’s programme include Dr Muhammad Abdul Bari, Secretary General of the Muslim Council of Britain, and Stuart Etherington, Chief Executive of the National Council for Voluntary Organisations. The conference chair will be Ms Fran Beckett OBE, Trustee of FbRN UK and former Chief Executive of the Shaftesbury Society and the Church Urban Fund.
Participants from all sectors will become more aware of how they can benefit from making connections, and widening their networks. They will receive information packs, participate in Q&A with an experienced panel and benefit from interactive workshops on working together, as well as enjoying lunch and refreshments.
Cost: £25.00 for unfunded community & voluntary sector (some bursary places available). £50.00 for funded community & voluntary sector (including faith). £100.00 for statutory & public sector.
