  • Revd Canon Nick Jowett (Chair, Sheffield Church Action on Poverty)
  • Speaker from Sheffield Anti Cuts Alliance

"As Christians we oppose the public spending cuts proposed by the current government, on the grounds that they will increase unemployment, poverty and social exclusion, and fail to protect the environment. We believe that the voice of the Churches should be heard raised in protest, since our faith calls us to work for God's Kingdom of Justice and Peace for everyone."

If you agree with the above statement (or something like it), please attend the above meeting and join our new group open to all Christians across Sheffield. After our speakers and related discussion we will vote on a statement that can give us maximum unity, gather ideas for action and ask for volunteers for a steering committee.
