We need you to telephone Buy As You View today!
Over a thousand people have already watched our Rip-off TV video (below), which makes the point that it is wrong that the poorest pay most for simple household appliances. The big boss of Buy As You View, Graham Clarke, initially agreed to meet us today (Friday 21 May), to discuss our concerns.
But only yesterday they snubbed us and pulled out. Why? Buy As You View say they don't want to talk about individual cases with people as a group. We aren't worried about that - that's why some of us spoke out in a recent tabloid article. They also say they are "not prepared under any circumstances to hold a meeting with a group of people and yourselves in an open forum with media presence". We are left guessing why they are so worried and frightened about meeting their unhappy customers.
Today - when they should have been meeting us - we'd like you to take two minutes to ring the boss direct and ask him two things:
- Customers in Stockton-on-Tees want to have a constructive discussion with you about various issues and concerns. They are more than willing to talk about their individual experiences as customers - but why don't you want to meet them as a group?
- What have you got to hide? Why don't you want to attend a meeting recorded by the local BBC?
Please ring Mr Clarke (ideally) on 21 May, on his direct line: 01656 754522.
Your pressure can help get him up from Wales to see us on Teesside.
P.S. Please get your friends, colleagues and family to watch the video and make the phone call too!
