cycle to work

1. Scope

Cycle to Work is a tax incentive scheme which aims to encourage employees to cycle to and from work.

All Church Action on Poverty staff are entitled to ask Church Action on Poverty to purchase a package of a bicycle and bicycle equipment for them, and pay the cost back through a salary sacrifice arrangement over 12 months.

2. Application procedure

You can buy a bicycle through any retailer that is part of the CycleScheme programme. There is a list of eligible stores and online retailers at www.cyclescheme.co.uk/retailers.

When you have made a choice, please inform your line manager and then apply via cyclescheme.co.uk. You will need Church Action on Poverty’s unique employer code which the Finance Manager can provide.

3. Terms and Conditions

  • You will be bound by the terms and conditions of the scheme (for repayment, ownership etc).
  • Staff members may only apply to the Cycle to Work scheme if their contract of employment or external funding is not due to end before the 12-month repayment period.
  • To be eligible for the scheme, staff members must have sufficient net pay to cover the monthly salary sacrifice deductions.
  • No further purchases can be made through the scheme until the 12-month salary sacrifice has been completed.
